Although more than 80% of visitors will come from the top 10 search engines, you want people to be able to find your site no matter which search engine they use. WebPosition is best for submitting to the top 10, but you still need to get listed everywhere else using another service.

There are many web based submission services available, and they usually come with bonuses attached. Unfortunately you have to pay again for each web site every time you submit, so it can get expensive.

Software has the advantage that you can usually submit as many web sites as you want, but sadly, bonus promotions rarely get thrown in. Just The Basics
Simply being listed with the top search engines will usually bring in a small number of visitors to your site. There are many services that will submit to these engines for free, but make sure that your site does actually get submitted! The search engines regularly move pages and change their submission forms. I do not trust any service that does not allow me to check the response made by each engine.
